    Saturday, September 12

Santa Maria Civic Theatre - 1660 N. McClelland, Santa Maria, CA 93454

    Doors @ 7pm | Show at 730pm

starts on time, runs about ~90 minutes

Aaron Foster never imagined that the best way to manage his depression, anxiety and grief would be by telling jokes about it, but his award-winning and darkly funny stand-up show Mostly Jokes—which one reviewer called "subversively hilarious, laugh out loud gallows humor"—has helped him, and others, find light in very dark places.

Growing up with a bipolar father and a schizophrenic older brother gave Aaron a unique perspective on life, one he transforms into smart, fearless, and deeply personal comedy. Mostly Jokes explores survivor's guilt, depression, anxiety, relationships, and the constant battle with self-doubt, all through a lens of sharp writing and disarming honesty.

First performed at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, the show earned rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, including, "Some shows claim to be dark humor, but this was the absolute epitome of it," "You will fall in love with a man who would rather you not," and "A laugh every 20 seconds."

Foster is the former host of HGTV’s FreeStyle and has performed in theaters and comedy clubs around the country. A few of his main influences are (alphabetically in case any of them ever see this!) Maria Bamford, Mike Birbiglia, Neal Brennan, Gary Gulman, Marc Maron, Christopher Titus, Taylor Tomlinson. Do with that information what you will.
